Important definitions
Google Health Connect
Google Health Connect is a free Android service that acts as a secure, central hub for syncing health and fitness data between different apps and devices. Instead of having to connect every app individually (e.g., trying to get Strava to talk to MyFitnessPal), Health Connect lets all your apps read and write data to one shared, on-device storage space.
Google Fit App
Google Fit is an activity tracking app. It has a user interface where you can see your steps, workouts, and heart rate. All your Google Health Connect data is synchronised here and you can manage app permissions, including with the Converge App.
Connect Health Connect from your fitness devices
Download or enable Health Connect on your Android device (found in Settings > Apps > Health Connect).
In your fitness apps (like Fitbit or Google Fit), go to settings and turn on Sync with Health Connect.
