Waiting to be assigned
When you register for the Move challenge, you are asked to select how you want to participate in a team. Your options are:
Join a team - you select an existing team that has available spots to join
Form a team - you create your own team that others can join
Wait to be assigned [to a team] - on the start date, we’ll automatically assign you to a team
When you select “Wait to be assigned” we’ll automatically assign you to a team on the start date of your organisations' Move challenge. You’ll be placed in a random team with available spots.
Options available
Before the start date of the Move challenge if you no longer want to wait to be assigned to a team automatically, you can instead either join a specific team, or you can create your own team.
You can do this by:
In the Converge App, tap “Challenges”
Tap the team icon at the top right
You should now be shown a team information page where you can choose an alternative option (either join a team or create a team)
After the start date you are unable to self-remove yourself from the team and you also can’t choose to join a team or create a team - but we can help you do that manually by raising a support ticket with us.
FAQ about “Wait to be assigned”
Can I leave the team I've been assigned to?
We encourage you to take this time to connect with new Colleagues and participate together. If you need to leave the team, you can do so before the start date of the Move Challenge.
After the start date, you’ll need to contact us to process this request manually. Our team can only remove you - you’ll then need to select to Join an existing team (that has an available spot), create your own team or be automatically assigned to a team.

If you leave a team, you have 24 hrs to either select a new team to join or create a new team. If you don’t make a decision within 24 hrs, you will be automatically assigned to a team which may also include the team you’ve just left (if all other teams are full).
Yes, you can always change my mind before the Move Challenge start date as long as you have not been assigned to any team.
To do this:
In the Converge App, tap “Challenges”
Tap “Move team challenge”
Tap the Team icon at the top right
In the Team page, tap the settings cog-wheel icon (top right corner) ⚙️
Once the Move challenge begins, you won’t be able to manage this option.
